Overview

The International Oceanic Network (“ION”) was founded by Michael Lawrence, member of the Makah Tribe of Washington State in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. Established for the purpose of improving ocean ecology and quality of life of ocean-adjacent indigenous and local communities, ION seeks to facilitate collaborations between researchers, conservationists, and local entrepreneurs to improve ocean awareness among the public.
